This medium was used initially for growth experiments of HFPArI3 (Murry et al., 1984. Plant and Soil 78:61). It can be used for routine maintenance of strains in culture. The C-source was initially filter sterilized but is not necessary in the case of propionate.
1000X Stock Iron: Dissolve 0.75 g Na2EDTA.2H2O, 0.56 g FeSO4.7H2O ( make up to 100 ml).
